Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas

For the last 47 years, enthusiasts from all over the world have flocked to the Barrett-Jackson collector car auctions. Millions watch the events via live worldwide television coverage on Discovery Channel and Velocity.

Kustoms and classics on the block. A few stand out customs include the “Kopper Kaballero,” a 1958 Thunderbird is a one-of-a-kind custom painted ride with pinstripe, tuck n’ roll, and try-star hubcaps and a 1966 Corvair Monza that was built in France. It featured custom paint, patterns, pinstripe, hydraulics, chrome suspension, suicide doors and so much more.

A few classics we had our eye on were a 1957 Caddy Eldorado, the color and style and lots of chrome. Lower it, drop in some tunes and you have a perfect weekend custom cruiser. If we were there to buy, my personal choice would have been this Tri-Power frame-off restoration '58 Impala from the Bryan Frank Collection. Another Bryan classic I loved was the 1954 Buick Century convertible. Tone on tone burgundy, wire wheels and lots of polished trim. I would swap the fat wires for a set of slim Coker 560’s and lower it a few inches.

1956-1957 Chevy’s have become popular in the lowrider community, the overall price seems to be down and there were a few on hand. All they need is a set of wire wheels and 520’s.

We meet up every year with our friends from Texas. We met them a few years back at pre-auction pool party. Eloy came close a few times, he has a thing for Corvettes, Chevelles and muscle cars. The action was hot and prices were on the rise.

See you next year.
