Sunday Slacker is proud to announce our official sponsorship of the Soul Sessions at the Smith Center presented by Daptone Records.

Join us for a dapper night of soul, R&B, doo-wop and "Souldies" by Thee Sinseers & Los Yesterdays with Dj John Doe (The Get Back) and special guest Jason Joshua.

Thee Sinseers were established in 2018 and have been charming people with their unique take on doo-wop, R&B and sounds of soul. This four-piece band features Luis Carpio on the drums, Francisco Flores on rhythm guitar, Aaron Perez on bass and lead vocalist Joseph Quinones.

Drummer Gabriel Rowland and singer/songwriter, Victor Benavides founded Los Yesterdays in Pasadena, CA in 2016. They wanted to create music that recalled their childhood days as young chicanos, “Souldies” is how they describe their contemporary take on the deep soul tracks they modeled their sound after. After writing and recording a few tracks the songs eventually ended up in the hands of acclaimed producer/guitarist Tom Brenneck. After an introduction to Gabe Roth best known as the producer/bass player/bandleader for the late Sharon Jones and the co-founder of Daptone Records a few meetings and some barbecues with Roth and Tommy they decided to have a jam session and Los Yesterdays was formed.

The little indie label, Daptone Records brings the tastiest, most delectable nuggets of Soul, Funk, Gospel, and Afrobeat to be found on vinyl. Musician owned and run our Brooklyn-based family of soul-drenched talent channels the spirits of by gone powerhouses.
